Barcelona will supplement its budget by 2.8 million euros thanks to the FIFA compensation program for the participation of football players in the 2026 World Cup, reports AS. According to the source, payments to the Catalans were made for 16 players who represented their national teams at the World Cup. At the same time, this amount turned out to be less than after the 2022 World Cup, when the club received 4.4 million euros. FIFA pays clubs compensation for each player called up to the national team. In the qualification phase, the amount is €2,063 per player per match, regardless of whether he played or not. During the final part of the World Cup, the amount of compensation increased to 4,330 euros per day for each football player. Payments are calculated from the first day of the player's stay in the national team location until the day after the completion of his team's performances at the tournament.
