Tottenham have denied Newcastle the sale of attacking midfielder Lucas Bergvall.
According to insider sources journalist insider, the London club rejected an offer of about 46 million pounds (approximately 54 million euros).
According to the source, this was the highest official offer for the 20-year-old Swede. Previously, however, all appeals were rejected. At the same time, Tottenham are ready to consider a transfer if a potential buyer offers an amount that meets the club's expectations.
Despite being under contract until the summer of 2031, Bergvall has already informed Spurs management of his desire to leave the team during the current transfer window. Several clubs from England and other European championships are showing interest in the midfielder.
Tottenham have already significantly bolstered their midfield this summer, signing Mateusz Fernandes from West Ham for £85m, as well as completing a £100m move for Sandro Tonali.
Bergvall played 33 games in all competitions last season, scoring one goal and five assists. In January, he underwent surgery due to a severe sprain of the ligaments of his left ankle and returned to the field only in March. The Swede has made 78 appearances for Tottenham since joining from Djurgården in 2024.
