However, due to the sharp deterioration of weather conditions, the training had to be interrupted at first, and then completely canceled. The Spanish Football Federation confirmed the situation in its official statement: "Spain's national team training at Melanie Lane Training Field in New Jersey has been suspended in accordance with US storm safety protocol. The players are now participating in warm-ups indoors," the statement said. According to USAID sports safety regulations, any outdoor activity must be stopped immediately if lightning or electrical activity is detected within an eight-mile radius. Recovery is possible only if there are no new hits for at least 30 minutes. Tournament organizers and FIFA have already said the European champions will not be given an alternative time to train on the pitch this Saturday. Meanwhile, Spain's rivals Argentina, based just five miles away in Morristown, have been a bit luckier. The reigning world champions were able to hold their full session after a 45-minute delay due to bad weather. The extreme weather became another serious test for the region and the organizers. On Saturday, New York City Mayor Zoran Kwame Mamdani issued a storm warning for flooding and urged residents not to risk their safety in these dangerous conditions. The situation is further complicated by the fact that earlier this week the authorities already announced a health warning due to the dense haze that covered the city as a result of large-scale forest fires in Canada. The decisive match between Spain and Argentina will take place this Sunday at the stadium in New Jersey. The match is scheduled to start at 22:00 Kyiv time. It will be recalled that the Spaniards are on their way to a decisive battle on Tuesday, while thanks to a late comeback.
