Shakhtar closing in on Genoa defender Alan Matturro

Shakhtar Donetsk have entered the final stage of negotiations to bring in Genoa centre-back Alan Matturro, according to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano. The Ukrainian side are pushing to secure the 22-year-old Uruguayan on an initial loan deal that would include a purchase option. Talks between the clubs have advanced significantly, with Matturro emerging as a top target to strengthen Shakhtar's backline. Last season, the defender made 21 appearances for Genoa, scoring once and adding one assist. Previous reports had valued the potential move at around €12 million.
