have seen an opening bid worth €5.8 million for rejected by , according to reports.
The England U19 international has been heavily linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium for several weeks and rumours indicate that he is likely to become an Arsenal player before the start of the Gunners’ pre-season preparations ahead of the 2026-27 campaign.
Monga has made 37 first-team appearances for Leicester to date, and it’s understood that he is eager to join Arsenal this summer following the Foxes’ relegation from the Championship last season.
However, a deal has not yet been finalised with Leicester and while there is confidence that a fee will be agreed, rather than requiring a sourcesl, Arsenal still need to reach a transfer agreement with the League One side.
report that Arsenal have lodged an opening bid worth €5.8m (£5m) for the 16-year-old, however this has swiftly been rejected by Leicester, who are said to want €11.6m (£10m) for Monga, in addition to a 15% sell-on clause.
It remains to be seen if Arsenal will return to the negotiating table with an improved offer, although multiple reporters have hinted that a deal is likely to be finalised shortly, with the Gunners therefore expected to finalise an agreement with Leicester.
If a deal is completed, Monga is likely to either feature for Arsenal's U21 side next season or be sent out on loan to the English Football League, with the teenager not expected to play a role in Mikel Arteta’s first-team just yet.
Who else will Arsenal sign this summer?
In addition to advanced talks over a deal for Monga, Arsenal officials are also in communication with Aston Villa as they look to reach an agreement to bring Morgan Rogers to the Emirates Stadium this summer.
sources understands that Rogers has been earmarked as a dream signing by the Gunners hierarchy and they are currently the frontrunners to secure his signature, despite strong competition from fellow Premier League giants Chelsea.
Meanwhile, Arsenal are also interested in signing Atletico Madrid striker Julian Alvarez, Paris Saint-Germain winger Bradley Barcola and Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott as Arteta eyes several high-profile reinforcements ahead of next season.
Furthermore, Piero Hincapie is set to arrive on a permanent deal from Bayer Leverkusen for €52m following a successful loan spell last year.
