Official: Arsenal Confirm Leandro Trossard Transfer Agreement with Besiktas

Arsenal have officially confirmed they have reached an agreement with Besiktas for the permanent transfer of Leandro Trossard. The 31-year-old Belgium international has given the green light to move to the Turkish Super Lig side after his country’s World Cup campaign came to an end. Trossard’s agent had been in talks with Besiktas for almost a week, and the winger is now set to travel to Istanbul imminently to finalise the move. The deal between the clubs is understood to be worth €20 million including add-ons, and Arsenal issued a statement on their website confirming the breakthrough. "We can confirm that we have reached an agreement with Besiktas for the permanent transfer of Leandro Trossard," the Gunners wrote. "With a transfer fee agreed, Leo, 31, has been granted permission to travel to Istanbul to undergo a medical and complete the formalities of his move to the Turkish Super Lig club. We will provide a further update once the transfer has been completed." Besiktas had already announced the negotiations publicly, as required by Turkish stock exchange rules, and later confirmed Trossard will arrive in Istanbul on Tuesday evening. His flight is scheduled to land at Atatürk Airport’s General Aviation Terminal at 19:30 local time. Trossard leaves Arsenal after three-and-a-half years, having made 174 appearances for the club, scoring 36 goals and providing 34 assists. His final involvement for Belgium came in the World Cup quarter-final on Friday, where they lost 2-1 to Spain.
