Arsenal Transfer News Today: Trossard Deal Sealed, Morgan Rogers Twist Reshapes Window

0
Arsenal have officially parted ways with Leandro Trossard, with the Belgian winger completing a €20 million switch to Besiktas. The Gunners confirmed the transfer after Trossard gave the green light to the move, undergoing his medical in Istanbul on Tuesday before signing his contract. Besiktas also announced the arrival of the 31-year-old, ending weeks of speculation around his Emirate departure. The Trossard sale was clean and straightforward, but elsewhere the picture is far messier. Arsenal’s pursuit of Morgan Rogers has hit a major obstacle. Aston Villa now have no financial pressure to sell after completing the €41 million sale of Youri Tielemans to Manchester United. Villa have maintained all along that Rogers is not for sale, and the Tielemans windfall only strengthens their hand. The England international remains Arsenal’s dream forward target, but any deal would likely require a Premier League record fee — and that now looks even more unlikely. Julian Alvarez is also off the table. The Atletico Madrid striker has no intention of returning to England, with his family keen on a move to Barcelona. Arsenal director Andrea Berta and manager Mikel Arteta are huge admirers of the 26-year-old, but Alvarez’s heart is set on Catalunya. Atletico would be more willing to sell to Arsenal than to Barcelona, but the standoff continues because the player wants only one destination. The Bruno Guimaraes saga continues to frustrate Newcastle. The Brazil midfielder has told the club he wants to join Arsenal, but Newcastle insist he is not for sale and have been left "flabbergasted" by talk of a €100 million price tag — a figure they deny. No direct talks have taken place between the two clubs, and the Magpies are adamant that no price has been set because the player simply is not on the market. Finally, Arsenal’s hopes of signing Lille midfielder Ayyoub Bouaddi have taken a blow. Manchester City are now in pole position for the Morocco international, with Lille demanding around €100 million following Elliot Anderson’s record move to City and Bouaddi’s impressive World Cup displays. Unlike earlier reports, City plan to integrate the 18-year-old immediately rather than loan him back. Arsenal view Bouaddi as a key target, but they now face a fierce battle they may well lose.
