Arsenal Transfer Roundup: Trossard Nears Besiktas Move, Rogers Sale Gets Boost

0
Arsenal’s summer business is picking up pace, with fresh developments on multiple fronts — from Leandro Trossard’s impending departure to Morgan Rogers potentially becoming available. Leandro Trossard is closing in on a switch to Turkish side Besiktas after the two clubs reached a full agreement. The Belgian winger will cost an initial €18 million, with another €2 million in add-ons, and personal terms are now being finalised. According to insider sources, Trossard is set to sign a three-year contract with an option for a fourth, earning around €7 million per year. The deal could be wrapped up this week. Meanwhile, Aston Villa’s club-record signing of Swiss talent Johan Manzambi for over €60 million has opened the door for Morgan Rogers to leave. Villa had previously resisted selling Rogers, but the arrival of Manzambi — who is expected to be a key player under Unai Emery — suggests the club may now be willing to cash in on their star attacker. That development gives Arsenal a clearer path should they decide to pursue a summer move for the 22-year-old. In midfield, Newcastle United captain Bruno Guimarães remains keen on joining the Gunners, having already agreed personal terms with Mikel Arteta’s side. Newcastle insider Keith Downie explained the Brazilian’s motivation, pointing to the huge wage increases given to former teammates like Sandro Tonali, Anthony Gordon, and Alexander Isak after their own transfers. Guimarães, Downie suggested, is wondering when it will be his turn to double his salary and compete for major honours. Elsewhere, Arsenal have missed out on Club Brugge striker Nicolo Tresoldi, who has agreed a five-year deal with AS Roma for around €25 million. The 21-year-old had been linked with the Gunners, but that interest has faded. Arsenal are also stepping up efforts to sign Atlético Madrid striker Julián Álvarez, though Barcelona remain in the race. Barca president Joan Laporta confirmed their initial bid is still on the table, saying: “Our substantial offer is still there, but it won’t be there forever.” Álvarez is said to prefer a move to Camp Nou. Finally, once Trossard’s transfer is finalised, Arsenal are expected to accelerate talks for Club Brugge winger Christos Tzolis. Contact has already been made with his representatives, and the player is keen on the move.
