Morgan Rogers closes in on Arsenal move as five-year personal terms near completion

0
Arsenal are edging closer to securing Morgan Rogers, with sources indicating the 23-year-old is “very, very close” to agreeing a five-year contract at the Emirates. The Gunners are preparing an initial offer for Aston Villa, though it will fall well short of Villa’s demand for a British-record fee. Elsewhere, Leandro Trossard is on his way out. The Belgian winger’s agent, Dirk Hebel, met Trossard in the United States on Monday and is now negotiating personal terms in Istanbul. Besiktas have already agreed a club-to-club deal worth €18 million plus add-ons, but the final decision rests with Trossard, who does not want to commit during the ongoing tournament. Arsenal are also monitoring Bournemouth forward Eli Kroupi, but face competition from Barcelona, who see him as an alternative to Julián Álvarez. Tottenham are said to be the most determined suitor, while Bournemouth have slapped a €100 million-plus price tag on the 20-year-old. In midfield, Bruno Guimarães has told Newcastle he wants to join Arsenal after the Gunners’ rejected verbal offer last month. Arsenal are prepared to pay around €70 million, but Newcastle insist their captain is not for sale. At right-back, Arsenal have identified Aaron Wan-Bissaka as a potential replacement. The Ivory Coast international was relegated with West Ham at the end of the 2026/27 season, and the Hammers may need to sell in the Championship. Finally, PSG winger Bradley Barcola has been advised to reject Arsenal’s interest. Former France star Marcel Desailly told Barcola to stay at PSG, play 25 games a season, and develop within the system – warning that a Premier League move is premature.
