Arsenal receive boost as Christos Tzolis rejects rivals to push for Emirates move

0
Arsenal are closing in on their second signing of the summer after Christos Tzolis made it clear he only wants to join Mikel Arteta’s side, according to transfer insider insider. Romano reports that the Greek winger’s representatives have turned down approaches from several unnamed clubs, with the 24-year-old determined to secure a move to north London. Arsenal view Tzolis as the ideal replacement for Leandro Trossard, who completed a €20m (£17m) switch to Besiktas earlier this week. sources understands that Arsenal sporting director Andrea Berta is leading the pursuit of Tzolis, who is valued at around €35m (£30m). The former Norwich City attacker joined Club Brugge in 2024 and has since scored 43 goals in 108 appearances, including 17 goals and 23 assists last season as Brugge won the Belgian Pro League and Super Cup double. The Gunners have already made one addition this summer, signing goalkeeper Illan Meslier on a free transfer from Leeds United. The 26-year-old will serve as backup to David Raya next season. Despite their interest in Tzolis, Arsenal continue to explore other attacking options. sources claims the club still hope to bring in a high-profile forward, with Morgan Rogers identified as a primary target — though Aston Villa’s €152m (£130m) valuation could be a stumbling block. Paris Saint-Germain’s Bradley Barcola is also on Arsenal’s radar. On the outgoing side, Arsenal have confirmed permanent moves for Jakub Kiwior to Porto and Karl Hein to Werder Bremen, alongside Trossard’s departure. The Belgian international, who scored 36 goals in 174 appearances for the Gunners, played a key role in Arsenal’s Premier League title win last season and also contributed two goals and three assists for Belgium during their run to the World Cup quarterfinals this summer.
