Kane opens up on 'surreal' golf round with Trump ahead of World Cup quarterfinal

England captain Harry Kane has revealed he once played golf with United States President Donald Trump, calling the experience 'surreal'.
The Bayern Munich striker, who will lead the Three Lions into Saturday's World Cup quarterfinal against Norway in Miami (22:00 BST), said the round took place about 18 months ago in Florida.
'I played alright to be honest,' Kane said. 'He invited me to play when I was down in Palm Beach. So yeah, when the president invites you somewhere… It was a pretty surreal experience just to meet him and obviously play golf with him.'
Kane, 31, also praised Trump's game. 'His golf is pretty good, to be honest with you. I hope I can play golf as good as him when I'm his age, that's for sure. A unique experience, but I was just grateful that he invited me to play.'
The 80-year-old Trump confirmed the outing earlier this week, calling Kane 'a great player' after the England striker scored six goals and provided one assist so far in the tournament, including helping the side to a 3-2 victory over Mexico in the last 16.
'I played golf with him and I like him a lot. He's a good golfer too. He's really great,' Trump said.
The United States, alongside Canada and Mexico, is co-hosting the 2026 World Cup.
