Roma submit first official bid for Chelsea's Alejandro Garnacho

0
AS Roma have made their move for Chelsea winger Alejandro Garnacho, lodging an official loan-to-buy offer for the Argentine, according to reports in Italy. The 22-year-old is expected to leave Stamford Bridge after a single season, and the Serie A side are leading the chase ahead of the summer window. Garnacho has not reported for pre-season at Chelsea's Cobham training base as he considers his next step. Speaking at his first press conference as Chelsea manager, Xabi Alonso confirmed the situation is developing: "We have spoken with the sports directors and there is an interest from him, from other clubs, so let's see how it develops. But hopefully it finishes in the best possible way for all the parties." insider reports that Roma have offered a €5 million loan fee with an option to buy for €35m next summer. Under certain conditions, that clause becomes mandatory. Chelsea are yet to respond, but the Blues have previously indicated they want a permanent sale worth €50m — not a loan for the 2026-27 season. Despite a difficult debut campaign at Chelsea, the club's valuation is backed by data. Garnacho's Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) sits at €49.6m, down from a career-high €70.9m in September 2024. At 22 with six years left on his contract, Chelsea may hold out for a better offer from Roma or other suitors.
