Liam Rosenior breaks silence on exit
Liam Rosenior has spoken about his Chelsea exit for the first time since his sacking after being appointed as the new Paris FC manager.
The Englishman lasted less than four months at Stamford Bridge after his appointment in January, but he has secured a quick return to management and is eager to learn from the challenges he experienced in west London.
“We joined the club in the middle of a season and at a difficult moment, and I learned many lessons," Rosenior told reporters.
“There are things I definitely could have done better and things I could have taken more accountability for, but there were also positive aspects to what we did.”
He added: “I wish them all the best in the future. I think they have a fantastic manager in Xabi Alonso and I will be following their results.
“Those lessons I take from Chelsea will help me in this role and, hopefully, help this club become a very big club in world football as well.”
Mykhailo Mudryk hints at return
Mykhailo Mudryk has subtly hinted that he could be set to return to Chelsea at some point in the near future amid his ongoing suspension for a positive doping test.
The Ukraine forward was provisionally suspended by the Football Association in December 2024 after he tested positive for banned substance meldonium while on international duty in November, and he was subsequently handed a four-year ban earlier this year.
His absence has rarely been spoken about, however Mudryk has dropped a major hint that his ban could soon be lifted in his latest Instagram post.
The Chelsea forward, who has been extremely quiet on social media since his ban was announced, posted a video of him scoring into the top corner while training with an individual goalkeeper and he captioned the post: “Stay tuned…”
His girlfriend, model Jordyn Jones, responded by saying, “we’re ready” in the comments section, while Mudryk replied to a Chelsea fan with a message that read, “miss you too.”
Chris Atherton joins Ipswich
Ipswich Town have completed the permanent signing of Chelsea academy midfielder Chris Atherton.
The 17-year-old arrived at Stamford Bridge from Northern Irish Premiership side Glenavon last summer, where he made 32 senior appearances, but he has now left the club to join Ipswich.
: “I’m delighted to be here and can’t wait to get started. I hope to offer a lot of creativity and attacking threat going forward and obviously working as hard as possible to get better every day.”
