Inter Milan Eye Trevoh Chalobah but Yet to Table Offer, Italian Report Claims

0
Inter Milan have joined the race for Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah, but the Serie A champions have yet to submit a formal bid, according to Gazzetta dello Sport. Chalobah, valued at around €40 million by Chelsea, is one of several players the Blues are looking to offload this summer as they attempt to balance the books. Chelsea posted a staggering pre-tax loss of €306.2 million for the 2024-25 financial year, the largest ever recorded by a Premier League club, and new manager Xabi Alonso is expected to need funds for reinforcements. Como had a €25.6 million bid rejected for the 27-year-old England international in June, with Chelsea holding out for closer to €40.8 million. While Chalobah is said to prefer a move to Inter, the Nerazzurri are also weighing up a move for Roma's Evan Ndicka, meaning they have not yet made an offer for the Chelsea academy graduate. Nevertheless, Como remain hopeful. Sporting director Carlalberto Ludi made his admiration clear, simply stating: “Chalobah is a very strong player,” without elaborating on their pursuit. Chelsea, meanwhile, are pushing to sign Crystal Palace centre-back Maxence Lacroix. talkSPORT reported earlier this week that the Blues are willing to offer Chalobah as part of a deal for the France international. Palace value Lacroix at around €55 million, and the 26-year-old has been a key figure for the Eagles, helping them win the FA Cup, Community Shield, and UEFA Conference League over the past two seasons.
