0
Carlos Queiroz has resigned as Ghana’s head coach, ending a brief three-month tenure that concluded with a round-of-32 exit at the 2026 World Cup. The 73-year-old Portuguese tactician took charge in April and guided the Black Stars to a third-place finish in Group L before a 1-0 defeat to Colombia in the knockout stage’s opening round ended their campaign. Queiroz, a former Manchester United assistant, was managing at his fifth consecutive World Cup, having previously led Iran, Portugal, and Egypt at major tournaments. He was one of two national team coaches to part ways with their federation on Sunday, as Jordan also dismissed Jamal Sellami following a fourth-place finish in Group J.
