Fiorentina secure loan deal for Bournemouth's Alex Jimenez during club investigation

Fiorentina have reached an agreement with Bournemouth to take Spanish defender Alex Jimenez on a season-long loan, with the option to make the move permanent for €20 million (£17 million). The 21-year-old has been suspended by Bournemouth since May pending an internal investigation into what the club described as a “serious matter” linked to posts circulating on social media. The loan arrangement will allow Jimenez to continue playing while that probe continues. Jimenez originally joined Bournemouth on loan from AC Milan before signing permanently in February on a contract that runs through 2031. The Spain Under-21 international made 32 appearances for the Cherries last season, scoring once.
