Tchouameni Stays: Real Madrid Reach Deal for New Contract; Arsenal Chase Guimaraes Heats Up

insider has dropped a major update on two of the biggest transfer sagas of the summer. Real Madrid midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni, long linked with Manchester United, has agreed to a new five-year deal at the Bernabeu. Meanwhile, Arsenal are pushing hard for Newcastle’s Bruno Guimaraes, but the Magpies have rejected their opening bids.
According to Romano, Tchouameni’s move to Old Trafford was never truly on the cards. “There were two problems: Real Madrid were not opening the door, and the player’s salary was too high,” he said on his YouTube channel. “Man Utd saw him as the perfect replacement for Casemiro, but it quickly became clear the deal was impossible.”
Now Real Madrid have a “Here We Go” on a new contract with Tchouameni. The deal is fully agreed, with only the final paperwork left to sign. The French midfielder will receive a significant salary increase. Romano also revealed that Jose Mourinho played a key role behind the scenes. “Mourinho was pushing to keep Tchouameni. He never wanted him to leave. He values fighters with a top mentality,” Romano explained.
On the other front, Arsenal have made Bruno Guimaraes their top midfield target. The Gunners saw an initial £55 million bid rejected by Newcastle, then informed the club they would go to £65 million – but that too was turned down. “Newcastle said no to both,” Romano confirmed.
The good news for Arsenal is that Guimaraes wants the move. “Bruno has made it clear his preference is to join Arsenal. Personal terms would not be a problem,” Romano said. However, the Brazilian has handled the situation with respect toward Newcastle. “He has not demanded a move or caused problems. If the clubs agree, he’ll be very happy. If not, he will remain professional.”
Romano added that sources close to the negotiations expect Arsenal to return with an improved bid, but Newcastle’s stance remains firm for now.
