The disciplinary committee of world football's governing body had initially banned Balogun for an alleged regulatory breach. However, following an appeal and a review of the case, the suspension was placed on hold, allowing the striker to continue representing the Stars and Stripes. Balogun, a New York-born forward of Nigerian descent, has become a crucial attacking option for the U.S. side. He is currently on loan at AS Monaco, where he has been delivering consistent performances this season.
