Polissya president Butkevych: 'Time to change the foreign player limit philosophy'

Hennadiy Butkevych, the president of Zhytomyr-based Polissya, has thrown his support behind the newly approved regulations regarding foreign player limits, which were recently ratified by the Executive Committee of the Ukrainian Association of Football. Under the revised rules, clubs are now allowed to have up to seven foreign-born footballers on the pitch at the same time. In addition, one player holding a passport from a European Union country can also be included in the lineup. The 68-year-old official stated that the change was long overdue and that it's time to fundamentally rethink the approach to restricting foreign talent in Ukrainian football. Polissya's press service confirmed that the UAF Executive Committee backed the innovation, and the new regulations are already in effect.
