Rosenior agrees return to management three months after Chelsea sacking
Liam Rosenior is close to finding a new job less than three months after his sacking by , with the English coach set to return to management in familiar territory.
Rosenior signed a six-and-a-half-year contract to become Chelsea’s new head coach in January but he lasted just three months in the role before being dismissed having lost ten of his 23 games in charge.
Chelsea had hired Rosenior from affiliate club Strasbourg, whom he had impressed with after leading them to a seventh-place finish in Ligue 1.
And, according to multiple reports in France, Rosenior is close to securing a return to French football after holding talks with , who are likely to part ways with current manager Antoine Kombouaré.
The Parisians finished 11th in their first season back in the top flight but L’Equipe report that tensions have become ‘strained’ with Kombouare and he is now expected to depart in the coming days.
Paris FC were scheduled to return to pre-season training on 1 July but the date has been pushed back by eight days in order to resolve the managerial issues, with Rosenior already in talks to take over on a two-year contract.
Rosenior agrees Paris FC deal after leaving Chelsea
It remains to be seen whether any issues arise with Rosenior given the terms of his severance with Chelsea, having previously had a contract at Stamford Bridge until 2032.
Footmercato claim that Rosenior has agreed to join Paris FC, with the final details being discussed ahead of a quick appointment to ensure no further delay to pre-season training.
Kombouaré is alleged to want a new contract with a payrise, with his current deal set to expire next summer, but Paris FC are said to be disappointed with his attitude and firm in their desire to maintain his current deal at least until January.
Paris FC are owned by the Arnault family, headed by Bernard Arnault, who is one of the richest men in the world due to his role as the Chairman and CEO of LVMH – the holding company of Louis Vuitton.
