Man Utd Get the Message: Bournemouth Won't Sell Alex Scott for €93m

0
Manchester United have been told in no uncertain terms that Bournemouth have no intention of parting with Alex Scott during the current summer window. The 22-year-old midfielder, who just missed out on a spot in England's World Cup squad, has been identified as a key target by Old Trafford chiefs after an outstanding 2025/26 season. Scott made 39 appearances across all competitions last term, chipping in with five goal contributions, and was instrumental in Bournemouth's historic qualification for European football. The Cherries have already seen manager Andoni Iraola depart for Liverpool and are fighting to keep hold of starlet Eli Junior Kroupi, who scored 13 Premier League goals as a teenager. Scott has attracted serious interest from Arsenal, Manchester City and United, but according to sources, Bournemouth value him at around €93 million (£80m) and are not open to a sale. In fact, the club is hopeful of tying Scott down to a new contract, potentially including a release clause similar to the one Antoine Semenyo had before his winter move to City. That leaves United scrambling for alternatives. Their primary target Mateus Fernandes has joined Tottenham for €99m, while Spurs also snapped up Sandro Tonali. Real Madrid's Aurélien Tchouaméni remains on the radar but is expected to stay unless José Mourinho changes course before the deadline. Brighton's Carlos Baleba is still an option after United's failed attempt last summer, and Crystal Palace's Adam Wharton could be revisited. United have already secured Atalanta's Éderson for a post-World Cup arrival, but with Manuel Ugarte sidelined by a serious knee injury, another midfielder is needed before the new season kicks off.
