A bid has been rejected by Newcastle for Sandro Tonali, but the North London club are expected to return with another offer. Alongside Tonali, they also want to bring in Fernandes, and it is now understood that they are willing to pay as much as €100m for him in a bid to beat Man Utd to his signature. This, it is claimed, could force Man Utd into action and to be more liberal with their spending. They have so far attempted to be disciplined, but if they really want Fernandes, then it increasingly looks as though they will have to pay top dollar. If they refuse, the Portugal international could be on his way to North London instead, with Tottenham seriously considering making a bid.
