Man Utd Transfer Roundup: Kone Price Set, Greenwood Bound for Fenerbahce, and More
0
Manchester United are facing a packed summer window, with several midfield targets and an imminent sell-on windfall from Mason Greenwood’s expected move.
AS Roma have slapped a €55 million price tag on Manu Kone, according to Corriere dello Sport, and €50m won’t be enough to land the France international. United need a midfielder after Ederson failed his medical, but they’ll have to beat Arsenal to Kone’s signature.
Mason Greenwood is set to leave Marseille for Fenerbahce, reporter insider confirmed. United informed Marseille they won’t activate their buy-back clause, meaning the Red Devils will collect over £10m from the sell-on clause built into Greenwood’s original transfer.
Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Joao Gomes has emerged as another option. Brazilian outlet O Globo says United are weighing a move after Gomes’s deal to Atletico Madrid collapsed following Wolves’ relegation from the Premier League.
Chelsea are also exploring a move for Crysencio Summerville, a target for United. The Dutch winger is expected to leave relegated West Ham, and Chelsea see him as a cheaper alternative to Morgan Rogers, who is being pursued by Arsenal.
Mason Mount is ready to drop into a deeper midfield role at Old Trafford next season, according to media. With Kobbie Mainoo the only fit senior midfielder and Andrey Santos expected to arrive from Chelsea, manager Michael Carrick is open to using Mount in a more withdrawn position.
