Manchester United Complete Three Signings in Two Days, Target Four Midfielders

0
Manchester United have made a splash in the transfer market by completing three signings in just two days, with Karl Darlow and Youri Tielemans joining the club after Andrey Santos arrived earlier this week. Darlow, a 35-year-old goalkeeper, joined United on a free transfer from Leeds United. The Yorkshire club did not mention United by name in their announcement due to the rivalry. Darlow signed a two-year contract with an option for an additional year. Tielemans, 29, was signed for €41 million thanks to a release clause in his Aston Villa contract. The Birmingham club were reluctant to let him go but had no choice once the clause was triggered. United's midfield rebuild is far from over. The Red Devils are once again interested in Wolves midfielder Joao Gomes after his proposed move to Atletico Madrid fell through. A deal worth around €45 million is being considered, but Liverpool and Newcastle are now also in the race for the Brazilian. With Casemiro leaving on a free transfer and Manuel Ugarte sidelined with a long-term knee injury, manager Michael Carrick is keen for more options. According to insider sources, United could sign one of Carlos Baleba (Brighton), Alex Scott (Bournemouth), Sander Berge (Fulham), or Felix Nmecha (Borussia Dortmund). Real Madrid midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni remains a dream target, but United appear to have moved on as he is expected to sign a new contract in Madrid. Meanwhile, former United defender Gary Neville said he would pick Ryan Gravenberch if he could sign one current Liverpool player for his old club. "I'd go Gravenberch because I think he's the best of the three midfielders and we need a midfielder desperately," Neville said.
