0
The 2026 summer transfer window is officially open, and clubs across Europe have already begun reshaping their squads at a furious pace. While the World Cup continues to dominate headlines, front offices have been far from idle, with several blockbuster moves now officially over the line. Tottenham Hotspur have led the charge this summer, backing manager Roberto De Zerbi with more than €260 million worth of new talent. Jan Paul van Hecke, Sandro Tonali, and Mateus Fernandes have joined for significant fees, while Andrew Robertson, Marcos Senesi, and Martin Dubravka arrived on free transfers. Chelsea have also moved quickly under new boss Xabi Alonso, signing Marco Palestra from Atalanta for €55 million. The Blues have recouped around €146 million by selling Marc Cucurella to Real Madrid, Andrey Santos to Manchester United, and Tyrique George to Everton. Manchester United, preparing for Michael Carrick’s first full season, have brought in Youri Tielemans for €41 million and Karl Darlow on a free transfer. Their local rivals Manchester City splashed a club-record €136 million on Elliot Anderson from Nottingham Forest, alongside Mathys Detourbet (€25 million) and Jeremy Monga (€14.1 million). Arsenal have added goalkeeper Illan Meslier on a free transfer, while Liverpool signed Victor Munoz from Osasuna for €40 million. Barcelona, meanwhile, pried Anthony Gordon away from Newcastle United for €80 million, and are reportedly closing in on Karim Adeyemi from Borussia Dortmund for €29 million. Real Madrid, under returning manager Jose Mourinho, have been particularly active. Denzel Dumfries joined for €20 million, while Ibrahima Konate and Bernardo Silva both arrived on free transfers, alongside Cucurella from Chelsea. In Germany, Bayern Munich have signed Nathaniel Brown and Ismael Saibari for €55 million each, both coming off strong World Cup campaigns with Germany and Morocco respectively. In Serie A, AC Milan have backed new manager Ruben Amorim by signing Goncalo Ramos from Paris Saint-Germain for a club-record €70 million. Wednesday’s confirmed deals also include Mason Greenwood’s permanent move from Marseille to Fenerbahce for €39 million, Lewis Dobbin’s transfer from Aston Villa to Southampton for €10.5 million, Thomas Meunier joining as a free agent, and Harry Winks moving from Leicester City to Cagliari for an undisclosed fee.
