Arsenal in dreamland as Julian Alvarez confirms transfer desire
0
Sunday’s transfer market served up a flurry of headlines, with Arsenal’s pursuit of Julian Alvarez taking centre stage.
According to sources, the Gunners are ‘pushing’ to strike a deal for the Manchester City forward and have been encouraged by Atletico Madrid’s apparent unwillingness to sell him to either Barcelona or Real Madrid. That reluctance has opened the door for Mikel Arteta’s side, who now believe they have a genuine chance of landing the Argentine.
Elsewhere, Tromso midfielder Jens Hjerto-Dahl has admitted he would ‘prefer’ a move to Rangers over Besiktas, with both clubs monitoring the Norwegian. The 21-year-old’s comments will boost the Ibrox side as they look to strengthen their midfield.
Manchester United, meanwhile, have switched their focus to Flamengo’s Joao Gomes after Ederson failed his medical at Old Trafford. The Red Devils are now exploring a move for the Brazilian.
Alejandro Garnacho has not reported for pre-season with Chelsea, with a permanent exit now imminent. The Argentine winger is expected to leave Stamford Bridge in the coming days.
Chelsea have also entered the race for Crysencio Summerville, a player Manchester United had been tracking. The Blues are now competing for the Dutch winger’s signature.
Finally, Arsenal have received a significant boost in their bid to sign Bradley Barcola, with the Lyon winger reportedly keen on a switch to north London.
