Transfer Roundup: Lamine Yamal Recruitment Push, Arsenal Eyeing Bruno Guimarães and Morgan Rogers

0
The transfer market is heating up even as the World Cup continues, with plenty of action behind the scenes. Barcelona wonderkid Lamine Yamal has once again stepped into the role of unofficial recruiter, publicly urging the club to bring in Atlético Madrid forward Julián Álvarez. Speaking to Mundo Deportivo, Yamal said: “Everyone knows he’s a top player, the kind everyone wants to play with. I’ve already said it: we’re open to welcoming him, and if he comes, we’ll all be very happy. I think he’s a great fit for Barca’s style.” Atlético are unlikely to appreciate the intervention, especially given the tense history between the two clubs over this very target. Meanwhile, Arsenal are plotting a spectacular double midfield raid. According to sources, Bruno Guimarães has agreed personal terms with the Gunners, while Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers is described as “very, very close” to joining. The North London side, who won the Premier League last season, are willing to pay around £60 million for Guimarães, though Newcastle are holding out for closer to £100 million. Rogers would cost even more, but that hasn’t cooled Arsenal’s interest. Manchester United are also in the market for a midfielder. With Casemiro gone and Manuel Ugarte sidelined by a serious knee injury, Michael Carrick’s side is ready to bid about £50 million for Roma’s Manu Koné. TeamTalk reports that Koné, who is currently shining at the World Cup, wants a Premier League challenge. In Glasgow, Celtic are preparing to go “all out” for Hellas Verona striker Kieron Bowie. The 23-year-old scored four goals after joining for €6 million in January, but Verona’s relegation to Serie B could force a quick sale. Bowie was also left out of Scotland’s 2026 World Cup squad, adding to his disappointment. Finally, Barcelona appear to have moved on from making Marcus Rashford’s loan permanent. Instead, they are finalising a deal for Borussia Dortmund’s Karim Adeyemi for a fee between €30 million and €40 million. Personal terms have already been agreed with the German winger.
