Seven England Fans Arrested After Wild Celebrations Following World Cup Quarter-Final Win Over Norway

London police were forced to make multiple arrests on Saturday night after England supporters ran riot in the streets following the team's 2-1 victory over Norway in the World Cup quarter-finals. The Metropolitan Police confirmed that seven fans were taken into custody around Piccadilly Circus, with charges ranging from criminal damage to assault on police officers. Two individuals were arrested for being drunk and disorderly, while two more were held for other public order offences. England's dramatic win came after a tense battle. Norway's Andreas Schjelderup struck first in the 36th minute, but Jude Bellingham leveled the score in first-half stoppage time. The Real Madrid star then bagged the winner in extra time, sending Thomas Tuchel's side into their fourth ever World Cup semi-final. The Three Lions will now face reigning champions Argentina in Atlanta on Wednesday, with a place in the final — and a shot at emulating the 1966 triumph — on the line. Spain and France meet in the other semi-final on Tuesday. While England fans abroad have been praised for their behavior throughout the tournament, the scenes in London told a different story. The arrests follow a separate incident earlier in the week when a police officer was knocked unconscious after France's win over Morocco, with four people arrested and reports of fireworks and objects being thrown at law enforcement on Edgware Road. Tuchel was far from satisfied with his team's performance despite the result. "We made life very, very difficult for ourselves today," the England manager told ITV Sport. "The result is fantastic, we're in the last four. It's amazing. I'm not happy with the performance. In every sense." Bellingham, however, defended his teammates. "It's difficult out there. It's a tough shift," he said. "Maybe he doesn't know what it's like to play in those kind of conditions against Erling Haaland, Odegaard, Nusa, Sorloth. That's not an easy team to play against." "You're not going to win every game popping the ball and making a thousand passes. Sometimes you have to win dirty, and we've done that again tonight," Bellingham added.
