The 41-year-old Portuguese is reportedly leading the race to succeed Massimiliano Allegri at Milan. The Rossoneri initially claimed Andoni Iraola, but Liverpool replaced him with Arne Slot.

At the same time, La Gazzetta dello Sport recently reported that the head coach of the Austrian national team Ralf Rangnik.
The Rossoneri finished fifth in Serie A 2025/26, dramatically missing out on a place in the next Champions League campaign. The failure proved fatal for Allegri. Sporting director Igli Tare, chief executive officer Giorgio Furlani and technical director Geoffroy Moncada also left Milan.
Amorim was sacked by Manchester United in January 2026, after 63 appearances in charge of the Mancunians. Before the Premier League, he worked in his homeland, managing Sporting Lisbon, Braga and Casa Pia.
