Ander Herrera is close to returning to Zaragoza

Boca Juniors midfielder Ander Herrera is close to a return to Zaragoza. The 36-year-old midfielder is a pupil of the Aragon club, which he left in 2011. Herrera went on to play for Athletic, Manchester United and PSG, gaining considerable experience at the highest level of European football. In January 2025, the Spaniard moved to Boca Juniors. His current contract with the Argentine club runs until December 2026. In the 2025/26 season, Herrera played 12 matches in all competitions and scored one goal. Zaragoza finished last season in last place in Segunda and were relegated to Primera RFEF, Spain's third-strongest division.
