The 40-year-old debutant who stopped the favorite

0
About how to become a star at the age of forty... Of course, I understand that Vozinha was the main goalkeeper of the Cape Verde national team at three African Cups of Nations, and he made his debut at this tournament back in 2013, but, first of all, how many people in our space follow this tournament in general and the Cape Verde national team in particular, so I dare to think that for most football fans, Vozinha on Monday evening and until the match with the Spanish national team, he remained anonymous. The exception is probably Moldovan fans, since this goalkeeper defended the colors of Chisinau Zimbra for one season, although it was ten years ago. But now, after the debut match for Cape Verde at the World Cup against Spain, in which he made several cool saves, Vozinha is known not only in Cape Verde, Moldova or Portugal, where he very well defends the goal of Chavez from the second division (11 "dry" matches from 32 in the last championship), but also in Spain and, without exaggeration, in the whole world. In fact, Vozinha, not Vozinha at all, but Jozimar Jose Evora Diaz. Cape Verde is a former Portuguese colony, so Portuguese names are common there, and Portuguese is the official language. Vozinha, on the other hand, is from Portuguese, an affectionate address to the grandmother, and this nickname for the goalkeeper of the national team was fixed even in childhood. It is his, and not the name given by his parents, that the goalkeeper uses in big football. By the way, the boy was named Zozimar by his father, a football fan. He named it in honor of the right Brazilian defender Jozimar, who was the main player in the Brazilian national team at the 1986 World Cup in Mexico. Jozimar really played great then and scored two beautiful goals: against Northern Ireland with a long shot in the nine, and in the 1/8 final against the Poles after a luxurious solo pass on the dribble. And in the summer of 1986, Vozinya was born. In fact, Vosignha grew up without parents. His father served in the army and served on another island (Vozinha himself is from the island of San Vicente), and his mother devoted herself to work and did not raise her son. He was raised exclusively by his grandparents, who passed away a few years ago (the MVP of the match dedicated his success to them). As a child, the boy constantly played football on the street, usually with older boys. Jozimar was very adventurous, sometimes even rebellious, argued a lot and hated to lose. For this he often received from his elders. Because of his age, he could not give a change, he went home, clearly upset, with a displeased face. So the other children started teasing him, saying that he would now cry and complain to his grandmother. That's where the nickname Vosigny came from. It stuck to him forever, becoming his middle name. At the beginning of his professional career, when he went to play in Angola for the Progress team, there was already another goalkeeper named Jozimar. He was offered the name "Jozimar II", but he decided to revive his childhood nickname of Vosigny, which remains his calling card. Now it is not at all clear how the fate of the Cape Verde national team will turn out at this World Cup and how many goals Vozinha will miss from Uruguay and Saudi Arabia as a result, but one thing can be sure: after such a game and such a result, his name will forever remain on the lips of fans, like the name of the goalkeeper who stopped the champion of the Old World. And let Spain beat only Costa Rica in the last five opening matches of the World Cup, that is, it is a team that likes to harness for a long time and then go quickly, in the football world this result has already been called the biggest sensation of this World Cup. The "stardom" of Vosigny, who became the oldest debutant in the history of the World Cup (40 years and 12 days), began to be felt already during the match. The number of followers of the goalkeeper on Instagram right DURING the match with Spain increased from a couple of tens of thousands to a million. And in an hour after the final whistle, more than one and a half lams passed, while now the page has more than 5.6 million! Vosigny's saves — in review of Cape Verde's match against Spain:
