The Tunisian Football Federation is trying to appoint Hervé Renard as the head coach of the national team, journalist Ben Jacobs reports.
After the crushing defeat against Sweden (1:5), it was expected that he would be temporarily replaced by the technical director of the national team of Tunisia, Monder Kebayer. Nevertheless, the Eagles of Carthage can quickly get a new head coach.
The 54-year-old Frenchman Lamouchy can be replaced by his 57-year-old compatriot Renard, under whose leadership the Moroccan national team was eliminated from the 2018 World Cup group (1H, 2P), and the Saudi Arabian national team — from the 2022 World Cup group (1B, 2P). The last in April 2026.
In 2012 and 2015, Hervé helped the national teams of Zambia and Ivory Coast win the African Cup.
Tunisia will meet Japan at the Monterrey Stadium in Mexico on Sunday, June 21 (start of the match at 07:00 Kyiv time).
