Bayer wants to sign Moreira from Lyon

Bayer Leverkusen are closing in on signing a young star from French side Lyon. According to journalist Nicolo Scira, active negotiations between Bayer Leverkusen and representatives of Lyon regarding the transfer of Portuguese striker Afonso Moreira are ongoing. It is noted that the Germans have already offered the 21-year-old versatile forward a five-year contract until the end of June 2031. Moreiro is one of Lyon's key young players and has made 37 appearances in all competitions in the 2025/26 season, scoring 8 goals and providing 11 assists. According to Transfermarkt, his transfer value is estimated at around €20 million.
