Atletico agreed with Grimaldo on the contract — Romano

Atletico Madrid are close to signing Bayer Leverkusen and Spain international Alejandro Grimaldo. As the insider Fabrizio Romano reports, the Spanish club has already agreed with the 30-year-old footballer on the terms of a personal contract. Negotiations are currently ongoing with Bayer Leverkusen regarding the amount of compensation for the transfer. Atletico are expected to pay more than 10 million euros for the transfer of the player. Grimaldo is a pupil of Barcelona. He has been with Bayer since 2023, and the defender's current contract runs until the summer of 2027. The left wing-back made 46 appearances in all competitions last season, scoring 12 goals and providing 14 assists, becoming one of the key players for the German club.
