Lviv Carpathians officially announced the signing of a contract with promising 19-year-old goalkeeper Denys Marchenko. In his new club, the young goalkeeper will play as number 1. Denys began his football career at the capital's Zmina-Obolon school. In the 2023/24 season, he was the main goalkeeper for the Brewers youth team, playing a total of 42 matches. Oboloni's debut for the main team took place on February 23, 2025, when he managed to keep a clean sheet (1:0 victory over Vorskla). Since then, Marchenko has demonstrated an extremely confident game at an adult level. The goalkeeper's statistics in the Ukrainian Premier League are impressive: in 22 matches, he conceded 23 goals, while keeping exactly half of the meetings (11 matches) clean. The successes in the championship did not go unnoticed by the coaches of the national teams. A few months after his debut in the Ukrainian Premier League, Marchenko played for the U-20 national team of Ukraine, and in March of this year he defended the goal of the U-19 national team for the first time in the qualifying cycle for the European Championship. For Denys, the transition was the end of an important stage in his life, because he gave 13 years to the structure of Obolon. On his Instagram page, the football player addressed the fans and the club with an emotional letter: "Today is the end of an entire era for me. 13 years ago, I came to Oboloni as a little boy with a big dream. It was here that I took my first steps in football, grew as a player and as a person, experienced many unforgettable moments, defeats, victories and trials. I am sincerely grateful to all the coaches, teammates, club employees and fans who have been by my side during this journey. Each of you has left a mark on my life and helped me become who I am today. Obolon will forever remain my home and an important part of my history. There are memories, friends and moments that I will remember with great gratitude and warmth. It's time to take the next step in your career and take on a new challenge. But no matter where football takes me, I will always remember with pride the years I spent in Obolon. Thank you for everything. See you again." We will remind, earlier it became known that
