35-year-old Aaron Ramsey has officially taken charge of League One club Oxford United. At the Kassam Stadium, the Welshman replaces Matt Bloomfield, who was sacked by the management last Saturday. The new manager faces a difficult task: preparing the team for a start in the third strongest division after Oxford finished 22nd in the Championship last season and were relegated. Although Ramsey's only coaching experience to date has been a brief stint as interim manager at Cardiff at the end of the 2024/25 season, he is confident of his abilities: "From my conversations with the club's management, I can sense the ambition and drive to succeed, which makes me very excited for this opportunity. This is a moment I have been preparing for for many years. I have played under some of the best managers and experienced high-pressure situations throughout my career. I want to use this experience to bring a culture of high standards, professionalism and work ethic." Ramsey also promised more spectacular football for fans who missed an active attack after two difficult seasons of fighting for survival: "My team will play with a clear identity, built on elite habits and a desire to improve every day. I want a team that will fight for the emblem until the end and one that will make our fans proud." We will remind, only in April of this year after performances for the Mexican Pumas UNAM. His track record as a player is impressive: Arsenal: 369 matches, 3 FA Cups and 3 FA Super Cups. Juventus: Serie A title in debut season. National team of Wales: 86 matches, 21 goals, participation in three major tournaments (in particular, a key role in the historic exit to the semi-finals of Euro-2016). He also managed to play for the French Nice and his native Cardiff. Ramsey joins a growing list of young mentors in the English Football League. Interestingly, in League One he will compete with his former Arsenal team-mate Jack Wilshere, who is currently in charge of Luton Town. They had already crossed paths in coaching last year, when they worked as temporary mentors (Cardiff and Norwich respectively). We will remind
