Perisic Joins Elite Club: Goals at Four World Cups
0
Ivan Perisic has carved his name into World Cup folklore. The 37-year-old Croatian winger became only the sixth player in history to score at four different editions of the tournament.
Perisic found the net in Croatia’s Round of 32 exit at the 2026 World Cup, a 2–1 defeat. He had previously scored in 2014, 2018 and 2022, completing a remarkable quartet of goals across four decades of his career.
The feat puts him in the company of German legends Miroslav Klose and Uwe Seeler, as well as Brazil’s Pelé. Cristiano Ronaldo still leads the all-time list with goals at six World Cups, followed by Lionel Messi on five.
Perisic also claimed two Croatian national records. At 37 years and 150 days, he became his country’s oldest World Cup goalscorer. More importantly, he moved clear as Croatia’s all-time leading scorer at the tournament with seven goals, one more than Davor Šuker’s previous mark of six.
