Palhinha heads back to Bayern after Spurs fail to agree permanent deal

0
Tottenham Hotspur have failed in their bid to sign Joao Palhinha on a permanent basis, meaning the Portuguese midfielder will return to Bayern Munich when his loan spell ends this summer. According to German journalist Florian Plettenberg, Spurs attempted to negotiate a reduced option to buy — set at €25 million plus €5 million in add-ons — but the Bavarians held firm. No agreement was reached, and Palhinha is now set to rejoin the Bundesliga champions. Bayern are reportedly open to selling the 30-year-old, but no club has yet matched their valuation. Other interested parties remain undisclosed. Palhinha made 45 appearances for Tottenham last season, scoring seven goals and providing three assists. He still has years left on his contract in Munich, leaving Bayern under no immediate pressure to sell.
