Kane: 'Referee decisions didn't go our way, but we're through'

England captain Harry Kane has weighed in on a contentious penalty decision during the World Cup 2026 round-of-16 clash against Mexico.
The striker opened the scoring from the spot in the 60th minute, but the referee soon pointed to the other end, allowing Mexico to equalize from the penalty spot.
“I thought I got to the ball first. It was one of those days where the official made a lot of calls that didn't go our way. In the end, it didn't matter, so yeah, I'm happy,” said Kane.
Despite the controversial moments, England held on to their lead and booked a spot in the quarterfinals, where they will face Norway.
