Barcelona and Al-Hilal Agree on Permanent Transfer of João Cancelo

João Cancelo is set to become a permanent Barcelona player after the Catalan club reached a full agreement with Saudi side Al-Hilal over a transfer. The 32-year-old Portuguese full-back initially joined Barça on loan in January. When that temporary spell expired at the end of June, Cancelo made it clear he wanted to stay in Spain. Talks between the two clubs intensified in recent days, and they have now settled on a €10 million fee. A two-year contract awaits Cancelo in Barcelona, with only a few legal formalities left to finalize before the move is officially completed. During his loan stint, Cancelo made 23 appearances for the Blaugrana, scoring two goals and providing three assists.
