Juventus open talks with Aston Villa over Emiliano Martinez

Juventus have made their first move to reinforce the goalkeeping department, tabling an initial offer to Aston Villa for Emiliano Martinez. According to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, the discussions between the two clubs are still at an early stage. How things develop from here depends on Villa’s stance regarding the 33-year-old Argentine’s future. Should the Martinez deal fall through, the Turin side are ready to pivot to Tottenham’s Guglielmo Vicario as a backup option. Martinez has been with Aston Villa since September 2020, when he arrived from Arsenal for €18.5 million. Last season, he made 44 appearances across all competitions, conceding 49 goals and keeping 13 clean sheets.
