Lens Push for Openda Return as Juventus Open to Loan Move

Lens are working hard to bring Loïs Openda back to the club. The Belgian striker, currently owned by Juventus, could be on his way out of Turin after a difficult 2025/26 campaign. According to Foot Mercato, the Serie A side is willing to let the 26-year-old leave on loan. Openda joined Juventus last summer from RB Leipzig for €42.5 million but managed just two goals in 34 appearances last season. Lens believe that Champions League football, regular minutes and the forward’s strong connection with the club can convince him to return. The biggest hurdle remains Openda’s wages. Lens hope Juventus will cover a significant chunk of his salary if the deal goes through as a temporary move. Coventry City are also in the race, meaning Lens will face competition. During his first spell at Lens in 2022/23, Openda was a revelation — 21 goals and four assists in 38 matches. He then moved to RB Leipzig, where he scored 41 times in 93 games, before his switch to Juventus.
