Thomas Meunier closing in on Sunderland move

Thomas Meunier is on the verge of joining Sunderland as a free agent, according to David Ornstein. The 34-year-old Belgian defender, who recently parted ways with Lille, is set to sign a two-year deal with the Championship side. Paperwork is expected to be completed within the next 24 hours. Meunier brings a wealth of experience from spells at Club Brugge, Paris Saint-Germain, Borussia Dortmund, and Lille. Last season, he made 35 appearances for Lille, scoring once and providing three assists. On the international stage, the full-back featured in three World Cup matches for Belgium, registering one assist.
