Celtic open contract talks with Iheanacho – manager confirms offer

Celtic have officially entered negotiations with Kelechi Iheanacho over a new deal, with manager Martin O'Neill revealing that a formal proposal has been submitted to the Nigerian striker. “We’ve sent Kelechi a contract offer. Now we’ll see what happens,” O’Neill told reporters. The 29-year-old came through Manchester City’s academy before spells at Leicester, Sevilla and Middlesbrough. He joined Celtic last summer and has been a key figure this season. In the 2025/26 campaign, Iheanacho has made 24 appearances across all competitions, scoring nine goals and providing one assist.
