Spain early favorites for 2030 World Cup, oddsmakers reveal
0
The 2026 World Cup has barely ended, but experts are already looking ahead to 2030 — and Spain, the reigning champions, are the team to beat.
Spain boasts an exceptionally young squad. Only Aymeric Laporte and Fabián Ruiz are over 30 among their core players, meaning La Roja should still be in their prime come 2030. That has bookmakers installing them as the clear frontrunners.
France are considered the biggest threat at odds of 7.00. The logic is straightforward: Kylian Mbappé will be just 31, while Michael Olise, Bradley Barcola and Désiré Doué will be entering their peak years.
England (10) and Portugal (11) — the latter co-hosting with Spain and Morocco — round out the top four. Argentina, runners-up in 2026, share the 5–7 spot with Germany and Brazil. The drop in odds for Lionel Messi’s side is no surprise: without the GOAT, they face an uncertain future.
Italy, meanwhile, have missed three consecutive World Cups and are desperate to return. Yet their chances are rated lower than those of the Netherlands, Belgium, and even Norway.
