Alex Scott rejects new Bournemouth contract as Premier League giants circle
0
Bournemouth are facing a real battle to keep hold of one of their brightest talents. Midfielder Alex Scott has turned down the club’s offer of a new deal, even though the Cherries had made his retention their top priority for the summer window. With no agreement reached, the 22-year-old’s future at the Vitality Stadium is now clouded in uncertainty.
The situation has put the top sides in English football on high alert. Arsenal, Tottenham, Chelsea, Manchester United, and Manchester City are all monitoring developments closely. The Gunners had already tested the waters with a bid back in June, but Bournemouth knocked it back at the time.
Scott still has two years left on his current contract, which gives the Cherries some leverage, but the clock is ticking. The midfielder joined Bournemouth from Bristol City in 2023 for a hefty £25 million and has since established himself as a key figure in the side.
His rapid rise hasn’t gone unnoticed internationally either. Scott is a regular for England’s Under-21s, and he received his first senior call-up last November. He was also part of Thomas Tuchel’s extended training camp in Florida ahead of the World Cup, underlining his standing within the national set-up.
While he’s yet to make his senior debut, Scott’s potential and form have made him one of the most wanted players on the market this summer.
