Luka Modric agrees new Milan contract – Romano

Luka Modric is staying at AC Milan. According to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, the 40-year-old Croatian midfielder has reached a verbal agreement with the Rossoneri over a fresh short-term deal. The paperwork is expected to be finalized in the coming days, after which the club will officially announce the extension. Modric has decided against retirement and will continue playing at the highest level. Romano reports that a conversation with Milan head coach Ruben Amorim was decisive. After that chat, the Croatian gave the green light to sign the new contract. Last season, Modric made 37 appearances for Milan, scoring two goals and providing three assists.
