Shakhtar Donetsk rescue late draw against Slaven Belupo with Karavaev's first goal

1
Shakhtar Donetsk continued their pre-season preparations in Slovenia with a dramatic 2-2 friendly draw against Croatian side Slaven Belupo. The first half saw the Ukrainian side dominate possession and create chances, with Bruninho and Lassina Traoré both coming close, but the score remained goalless at the break. The second half erupted into life. Alisson Santana broke the deadlock on 56 minutes with a precise finish into the far corner. Slaven Belupo responded quickly, however, as Marko Petrović netted a quickfire double in the 63rd and 69th minutes to turn the game on its head. Just when it seemed Shakhtar would suffer a defeat, they found a lifeline. In the 88th minute, following a corner kick, Oleksandr Karavaev scored his first goal for the club to make it 2-2. Shakhtar Donetsk (Ukraine) – Slaven Belupo (Croatia) 2:2 Goals: Alisson Santana 56, Oleksandr Karavaev 88 – Marko Petrović 63, 69
