Benfica and Valencia keep tabs on Arsenal winger Reiss Nelson

Arsenal winger Reiss Nelson has emerged as a transfer target for clubs outside the Premier League, with Benfica and Valencia both monitoring his situation closely. According to BBC journalist Sami Mokbel, the 26-year-old is open to leaving the Emirates Stadium this summer as his contract enters its final year. Several domestic offers have already been turned down by the Arsenal academy graduate, who is now considering a move abroad. Benfica’s recent appointment of Marco Silva adds an intriguing subplot. Silva previously coached Nelson during a loan spell at Fulham, and the prospect of reuniting with the Portuguese manager could tempt the winger to move to Lisbon. However, Fulham themselves are also keen on bringing Nelson back to Craven Cottage, meaning the new Benfica boss may have to fend off interest from his former club. Nelson spent last season on loan at Brentford before returning to north London for pre-season this summer. In the 2025/26 campaign, he made 14 appearances for Arsenal — totaling 339 minutes — and contributed one goal and two assists.
