Tariq Lamptey Joins QPR on a Free Transfer

QPR have officially completed the signing of right-back Tariq Lamptey. The 25-year-old Ghanaian arrives at the Championship side on a free transfer after his stint with Fiorentina came to an end. Lamptey managed only two appearances for the Viola last season, logging a total of 25 minutes across all competitions. A serious knee injury severely limited his playing time and disrupted his rhythm. A product of Chelsea’s academy, Lamptey made his Premier League debut against Arsenal back in 2019. He moved to Brighton a year later and went on to make over 120 appearances for the Seagulls, scoring five goals and providing ten assists. QPR finished 15th in the Championship last term and will hope Lamptey’s experience adds quality to their defensive line.
